The problem

A regional nonprofit was tracking grant-funded staff time in spreadsheets and reconciling it by hand against their grant management system. Ledgerline replaces the entry side: staff log time against the right grant codes, and the tool produces exactly what the finance system expects. Excel stays the analysis layer; Ledgerline is where the numbers come from.

What got built
  • 01Timesheet entry against grant and budget codes, with leave routing
  • 02Reconciliation against the grant system, exported in its exact format
  • 03Admin self-service for codes, employees, budgets and pay periods, plus a CSV bulk importer
  • 04Dashboard charts, a print-ready board report and download-all-to-Excel
The hard part

Matching the official books, to the record

A finance tool is only worth adopting if its numbers match the system of record exactly. Ledgerline was built against the client's real historical data and checked line by line: 184 of 184 records reconcile with the official figures, on the production database, not just in a test fixture.

A new product, a big feature, a launch date. Nothing else, and you can ask to be taken off any time. Or read the build log (there’s an RSS feed too).
